Area motorists have had numerous accidents to contend with during Thursday's rainy evening commute.
An accident that initially resulted in the closure of the southbound Saw Mill River Parkway in Hawthorne is now taking out one lane in each direction.
The accident, which occurred after 4 p.m., is between the Taconic Parkway merge (Exit 26) and Route 100/Route 9A (Saw Mill River Road).

In Dutchess, a crash on northbound Route 9 is causing delays at Westage Drive in Fishkill.
An accident was reported at 3:30 p.m. on westbound Route 35 in Lewisboro near Route 121.
