An early morning accident followed by an icy condition created a traffic nightmare on a stretch of the Taconic State Parkway in Yorktown Heights Tuesday morning at the Croton Reservoir Bridge.
The icing condition briefly closed all lanes at around 7:15 a.m., before all but one reopened. Delays remained in the area with stop-and-go backups are to Route 202/35 (Crompond Road) through the end of the morning commute. All lanes had reopened by 8:15 a.m.
An earlier accident in that area, which occurred shortly after 6 a.m., had blocked two lanes before being cleared.
