In his new role, Hardman will be responsible for overseeing business development, client services, technology, and operations across all Daily Voice sites.
"I'm very excited to be expanding my role at Daily Voice. We've built an amazing network of sites, each of which provides local flavor you can't get anywhere else," Hardman said. "I can't wait to build out our network to reach more communities, and to continue to make our sites even better."
Hardman joined Daily Voice as the director of product development in August, 2011 working on software development and product management processes for enhancing communication between technology and the rest of the organization.
From 2012 to March 2014, Hardman founded and headed research startup Annotary.
He returned to Daily Voice as Chief Technology officer in 2014 and helped oversee the organization's expansion from a network of 41 hyperlocal news sites to the current total of 76, covering Northern New Jersey, Fairfield County in Connecticut and the Lower Hudson Valley in New York.
The Daily Voice network currently boasts more than 2 million unique visitors and more than 7 million page views in the last 30 days.
"Success on the Internet requires intellect, invention, and instinct. Travis leads a team that embodies all three," Daily Voice Founder and CEO Carll Tucker said. "Today we are the most widely read news provider in seven counties surrounding New York City. In a few years, we expect to be bringing community news to most Americans. Not only is Travis one of the most talented Internet visionaries of his generation, he is an inspiring leader. I look forward to a long and exciting collaboration."
Hardman holds a BA in Economic Theory from New York University.
