WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- White Plains Hospital's Physician Associates Division has added one of the area's highest regarded surgeons, Dr. Sasan Roayaie, to its rapidly growing care team.

Roayaie comes to White Plains Hospital with unique surgical skills, having provided care for patients needing complex liver, bile duct and pancreas resections. He has extensive experience in transplant surgery and the treatment of primary liver cancers, as well as liver metastases from colorectal, neuroendocrine and other cancers. Roayaie’s expertise also extends to the treatment of bile duct and pancreatic cancers, and has been a leader in the development of minimally invasive hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. He's not only performed numerous operations, but also worked as part of a multidisciplinary team including radiologists and oncologists to create a treatment program for patients ineligible for surgery.

Roayaie received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed his residency in General Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Published extensively in the field of liver cancer, Roayaie has been invited to lecture and demonstrate his techniques for liver resection to an international audience. Fluent in Spanish and Farsi, he is active in volunteer missions to improve the standard of surgical care in countries such as Liberia, Haiti and Mongolia.

Dr. Sasan Roayaie will see patients at the White Plains Hospital Center for Cancer Care at 2 Longview Avenue.
