VALHALLA, N.Y. -- As the weather warms up, children once again take to the streets in all modes of transportation. Bikes, scooters, roller blades and skateboards are fun ways to keep your kid active. Before going for a swing around the block, it's important to make sure your child has the appropriate headwear.
Even if if you child is just biking down the driveway, the brain injuries that can come from a helmet-less accident can be dangerous. It's also important to ensure a proper helmet fit; helmets that are positioned too far back on the head don't provide full coverage and helmets that are too large will move out of the impact zone in the event of a collision.
