In what researchers say is the first study to look at all 50 states and the District of Columbia, the research shows that the percentage of people who are getting enough sleep varies widely by state. The study, from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, also says that working adults generally get more sleep than those unemployed or unable to work, HealthDay reports.
Experts say getting less than seven hours of sleep a night can contribute to health problems, such as obesity, Type 2 diabetes, stroke, mental issues and more, HealthDay says.
