Forget Candles and Light Up the Ethanol

I was looking for a lamp when I spotted this adorable mini fireplace. It's made by Eco-Feua company based in Montreal. They burn environmentally friendly ethanol, which can be purchased by the bottle for about $12. Wes Fanhani, a sales associate at the store, says the tabletop units are recent additions to the store's collection of home accessories.

Ethanol is a form of alcohol distilled from corn, sugar beets and sugarcane. Burning ethanol produces water and carbon dioxide, which dissipate into the air without producing smoke, ashes or air pollution.

Perfect for al fresco dining on the patio, or as a focal point in just about any room, the Eco-Feu fireplace comes in stainless steel or black and is available in square or round models. Each comes with a glass container, fuel unit and a bag of smooth rocks. Either size will set you back around $260.

What are you doing to improve the air quality in your home? I'd love to hear. Shoot me an email. Fpearson@mainstreetconnect.us.
