Williams, Duchin Honored At Music Conversatory Of Westchester Outing

ARMONK, N.Y. -- The Music Conservatory of Westchester hosted its 12th annual golf and tennis classic on Monday at Whippoorwill Club in Armonk.

Former Yankees star and jazz guitarist Bernie Williams received the Community Vision Award. Peter Duchin, a legendary pianist and band leader, received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

More than 200 people attended the event and proceeds will help the Music Conservatory continue to fulfill the dreams of many who aspire for musical excellence and those who will discover the world in a new way through music therapy. The Music Conservatory of Westchester was founded in 1929, and is the oldest and largest community arts school in a five-county region comprising Westchester, Rockland, Bronx, Putnam and Fairfield counties.

Each year, the conservatory serves 3,000 students: 900 in its White Plains facility, and more than 2,000 public school and disabled students who participate in outreach programs.
