Northern Westchester Hospital Staff Laces It Up At Kisco 5K

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- About 600 runners took to the streets at last weekend's 4th annual Kisco 5K, nearly 100 more participants than last year, according to event organizers.

Runners from Mount Kisco and beyond broke a sweat, with Northern Westchester Hospital contributing more than 70 runners, walkers and volunteers as part of Team NWH. The course traveled around the hospital, where balloons and water tables were set up to help cool down participants. In honor of the hospital's 100th anniversary, birthday cake pops made by NWH's 'Food is Care' team were distributed to the 120 young runners who completed the Kids Dash after the main race.

“A great day was had by all,” said Maria Simonetti, Director of Community Health, Education and Outreach. Simonetti and her team provided first aid, wellness information and centennial ice packs to all in attendance. Simonetti added, “We love the opportunity to raise health awareness!”
