The run, supported by Team Daniel, is scheduled for May 31 at 9 a.m., with registration open on site an hour earlier.
Robert Laitman recently told North Castle Town Board members about the event. He said that it is named for Miles Applebaum.
Applebaum, an Armonk resident, was found dead last fall days after he went missing. Community members at the time joined Applebaum's family for a vigil in Wampus Brook Park.
Team Daniel's website notes that the run will be on the same cross-country course where Applebaum once ran.
Speaking at the Town Board meeting, Laitman noted that May is a month for mental-health awareness. He compared awareness of mental health to where cancer was 10 to 15 years ago.
Information on the run is available here.
