The Quantum Endowment Fund boasted $900 million in net gains last year and a total of $42.8 billion in gains since the fund's inception in 1973. Soros is said to be worth $24.5 billion, Business Insider reported.

Soros has since handed day-to-day management of the fund over to Scott Bessent, Business Insider said.
