Lohud.com reported some lawmakers are working to keep the pool open. Westchester County currently owns Playland and the pool, one of the few in Westchester County that is open to the public. Standard Amusements has an agreement to take over management of the park, and a decision on whether the pool will be kept open or replaced with a dining patio will be made by July 31.
Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino supports a plan to fill the pool, which has low attendance and needs continual repairs, according to the Lohud.com story. Some legislators, however, want to see estimates on how much it would cost to fix the pool.
