China's Smartphone Xiaomi Takes Aim At iPhone, Samsung Galaxy

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A new smartphone made by China's Xiamoi Corp. could give a new option outside of Apple and Samsung for state-side customers, according to The Wall Street Journal.

A Chinese phone company is taking aim at the iPhone and the Samsung Galaxy.

CEO Lei Jun hopes the early success shown in China will be replicated overseas. The company's initial launch of 40,000 units sold out online in 15 seconds, The Wall Street Journal reported.
