Some New Yorkers had their “Call me Ishmael” moment when a Humpback whale was spotted in the Hudson River near the Statue of Liberty earlier this week. A photo of the whale captured Dec. 8 by photographer Bjoern Kils -- who runs the New York Media Boat that tours around New York City -- has been going viral on social media. Acting at the request of a Jersey City lawmaker, Gov. Phil Murphy Friday ordered that the Mississippi state flag be removed from Liberty State Park because it incorporates the Confederate "Stars and Bars" emblem.
