Separate Overnight Shootings Leave 1 Dead, 4 Wounded In Central Jersey, Authorities Say Middlesex County authorities are investigating two shootings that left one person dead and four people wounded overnight, they said. The shootings occurred about three hours apart but appear to be related, authorities said Friday afternoon. A gunman allegedly fired at a vehicle at 2:08 a.m. Friday on Easton Avenue in New Brunswick, hitting two people, police said. Both victims were taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, where one later died from bullet wounds, they said. Police Charge Fair Lawn Driver Who Slammed Into Three Poles With DWI FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Fair Lawn police said a local man was intoxicated when his SUV slammed into three utility poles. The Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps took Sean Sullivan, 40, to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center following Friday's crash at Plaza Road and Waverly Avenue just after 11 p.m., Sgt. Brian Metzler said Monday. A family member picked up the retired U.S. Marine, a father of two, at the hospital, he said. Police charged him with DWI, failing to maintain a lane, reckless driving, careless driving and failing to produce the required documents.
