CDC Warns Of Rise In Melatonin Poisoning In Kids Nationwide
Health officials are warning of an increase in melatonin poisoning among children. Over the past decade, the number of pediatric ingestions of melatonin rose 530%, with more than 260,000 ingestions reported between 2012 and 2021, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Melatonin became the most frequently ingested substance among kids reported to national poison control centers in 2020, the CDC said. Morris County Toddler Accidentally Locks Herself In Sweltering Car For Nearly 90 Minutes
A 4-year-old Morris County girl was evaluated by her pediatrician after accidentally locking herself in her parents' sweltering car for more than an hour Thursday, authorities said. The tot walked out of her house unbeknownst to her parents, and made her way to the vehicle -- locking herself inside, as temperatures hovered around 90 degrees, Denville Police Capt.
