Occupant In SUV Crash Off Route 46 Gravely Injured, Responders Say Responders feared the worst for an occupant of an SUV that struck a townhouse Saturday morning in Lodi. The man went into cardiac arrest after the Honda Sante Fe crashed on Harrison Avenue, just off eastbound Route 46 near the Garfield border, shortly after 10:30 a.m. July 8. He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center. A female occupant apparently wasn't injured. Pickup Slams Into Utility Pole Near Route 46 Entrance In Lodi A two-vehicle crash Monday morning sent a pickup truck head-on into a utility pole near eastbound Route 46 in Lodi, authorities said. The pickup continued on after the initial crash at Harrison Avenue and Outwater Lane before ramming the pole near the Saddle Brook border, Lt. Robert Salerno said. Injuries were minor and police were investigating, Salerno said. Meanwhile, Outwater Lane remained closed between Westminster Pl to the Route 46 ramp while the wreckage was removed and PSE&G repaired the pole.

The three-alarm Harrison Avenue fire -- off Outwater Lane near the Garfield border -- quickly blew through the second-floor cockloft toward the roof.
