It was shortly before 5 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, when the blare of a vehicle alarm awoke the owner, Police Lt. Robert Anderson said. The owner, who lives near the corner of Center and Holden streets, ran outside to find the car burglar fleeing with a high-end power tool, Anderson said. Teen Released After Stealing Running Vehicles Does It Again -- And Again, Clifton Police Charge A Clifton teen who stole vehicles that their owners left running was busted by police – then went right back to it after he was released, authorities said. Several vehicles had been taken from the Botany Village area of the city, Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said. All were recovered within a three-to-four-block radius of Center Street “usually within 24 hours from the time of each theft,” Bracken said. Clifton PD: One Robbery Victim Pistol-Whipped Returning From Work, Other Stabbed After Church A Clifton resident returning home before dawn was pistol-whipped and beaten unconscious by two masked robbers, said city police who sought witnesses. The 30-something victim, who was hospitalized with severe cuts on his face and head, told police he was attacked as he got out of his car on Fair Hill Road around 5:15 a.m. Sunday. One of the robbers hit him with a handgun during the beating, Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said. At one point, the victim apparently lost consciousness, Bracken said.
