Rebecca Abma, Daily Voice’s assistant managing editor, has worked in community news in Northern NJ for more than 20 years and has written for local, regional and national magazines, newspapers and websites.

The Paramus native comes to the Daily Voice with a rich background in the workings of community government, education and lifestyles in Bergen and Passaic counties. She is the founder of hyperlocal news sites Midland Park Press and Northwest Bergen Press.

Abma joined the Daily Voice in August 2015 to launch the North Jersey sites.

Lindy Blanchard Art Exhibit at Fort Lee Public Library FORT LEE, N.J. — Lindy Blanchard, Fort Lee resident and award-winning artist, will exhibit paintings of the George Washington Bridge in all its many guises, including a view drivers get when they come down the Palisades Parkway.  Lindy has a degree in art history, in addition to studying at the Art Students League of New York, the New York School of Visual Arts, and the National Academy of Design. Waldwick Post Office May Be Named In Honor Fallen Marine WALDWICK, N.J. — The Waldwick Post Office may soon be renamed in honor of fallen Marine Staff Sgt. Joseph D’Augustine, nj.com reports.  The U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on legislation to rename the post office at 1 Walter Hammond place after the Waldwick native who was killed in action in March 2012, the report said. The 2001 Waldwick High School graduate was on his fourth tour of duty overseas when he was killed diffusing an explosive device in Helmand province of Afghanistan. CLICK HERE to read the full story.
