"Kevin comes to us with the experience and knowledge to take our shelter to another level where we can be even more effective in our mission to save more lives," said Board of Trustees President Arlene Jurovitsky, as reported by the Oakland Journal.

Previously, Shippy was executive director for the American Diabetes Association of Greater New York, overseeing three metro-area offices, the Oakland Journal reported. And before that he was executive director for the New Jersey March of Dimes Foundation.
