Health Quest Sets The Table This Holiday Season

DUTCHESS COUNTY -- For staff and employees at Northern Dutchess Hospital and other Health Quest locations, helping the community doesn't end when a patient walks out the front door. The health network, which includes Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Putnam Hospital Center and Northern Dutchess Hospital, has worked to stock area pantries for the upcoming holiday and winter months.

Donation recipients include:

  • Dutchess County's Dutchess Outreach, which runs a food pantry and The Lunch Box soup kitchen in the City of Poughkeepsie.
  • In Ulster County, Kingston's First Baptist Church, which offers a warming center called Crossroads with free lunch sourced from donations, a food pantry and an area for washing clothing and showering. Also in Ulster County is Modena's Memorial United Methodist Church which offers a by-appointment food pantry that serves low-income people, particularly many families.
  • In Putnam County, Saint Andrews Episcopal Church's Brewster Community Food Pantry and the Putnam Valley Community Pantry provide meals to many in need.
  • In Orange County, St. Francis of Assisi Parish Food Pantry in Newburgh provides groceries and helps feed children by sending their school district weekend take-home meals.

"If you work in healthcare, you do it because you want to make a difference and to Health Quest employees, that desire extends past work hours and job duties," said Tim Massie, senior vice president of marketing, public affairs and government relations. "This is our community and we want to see it thrive."
