Authorities have released new information in a murder-suicide that left a family of four dead in Union this week. Andrea Alarcon, 42, is believed to have fatally shot her husband, Ruben Alarcon, 51, and their two juvenile daughters in their home at 1329 Lincrest Terrace in Union, Union County Prosecutor William A. Armed Robber Admits Role In Multiple Liquor, Convenience Store Holdups In NJ, NY
UPDATE: A member of a New Jersey-based armed robbery crew copped to holding up five liquor and convenience stores in two states, federal authorities said. Jaime Fontanez, 45, of Elizabeth and two accomplices went on a six-month armed robbery spree beginning in August 2018, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said. A trio from Irvington crashed a stolen BMW into a Maplewood home after a police pursuit through several towns, authorities said. Union police were called to a car burglary on Portland Road around 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 18. The suspect vehicle, a white BMW X5 stolen out of New York City the day before, was spotted on Springfield Avenue near Millburn Avenue in Millburn a short time later. Teens, Including 14-Year-Old, Fled Union Police In Stolen Minivan: Authorities
Three teenagers were arrested Monday after they fled a traffic stop in a minivan reported stolen out of Westfield earlier that day, Union police said in a statement. Patrol officers saw the minivan, a Honda Odyssey, and another vehicle exit the Garden State Parkway service area and make an improper left turn onto Vauxhall Road around 3:15 p.m., police said.
