Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Route 9 In Central Jersey: Sayreville PD A pedestrian was struck and killed on Route 9 in Sayreville early Monday, Jan. 22, authorities said. The man's identification had not been released pending notification of kin, said Lt. James Novak, a Sayreville police spokesman. The fatal crash occurred at about 12:40 a.m. in the 900 block of Route 9 North near the Sunoco station, Novak said. The driver remained at the scene and no summonses had been issued, he said. The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is urged to call Patrolman Al Cox at 732-525-5429.
