Swatting Hoax Probed By Hoboken Police A report of a shooting in Hoboken on Monday, April 17 turned out to be a swatting hoax, police said. Police responded to Grand Street between 1st and Newark Streets, along with fire, EMS and police officers from the nearby Stevens Police Department. Officers closed down Grand Street as they began their investigation. Officers soon determined the call was fake and there was no threat to public safety, police said. Hoboken Bank Robber Nabbed, Police Say A man who robbed a Hoboken bank of more than $18,000 Thursday was in police custody, authorities said Friday. Gunter Everton, of New York, NY, walked into the Bank of America at 2nd and Hudson Street around 3 p.m., Police Det. Lt. Danilo Cabrera said.  Everton placed a note saying “this is a robbery give me money” on the plastic barrier of the teller’s desk and left with more than $18,000, police said.
