NJ McDonald's Customer Burned By Scalding Tea, Lawsuit Says A woman is suing a McDonald's in Morris County claiming she suffered severe burns from their hot tea in January 2022. Stacey Crisman, a Kenvil resident, says in the suit that an employee at the McDonald's at 249 Route 10 East in Succasunna did not properly close the lid on a cup of tea, causing scalding hot tea to spill all over Crisman, according to the lawsuit.  The effects  of the have been severe on Crisman, who said she "has lost the enjoyment of life," according to the lawsuit. Videographer Killed In Union County Crash A 61-year-old videographer was killed in a crash Friday,  on Route 22 in Mountainside. Darryl Damon, of Plainfield, was driving west around 6:45 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20 when he went off the highway and struck a utility pole, Mountainside police said. Damon was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant in a 1996 Mercedes Benz, police said. The crash occurred across from an AMC  movie theater near the Springfield border where the highway curves, police said. Two Dead In Fiery Mountainside Crash A man and woman died early Sunday morning when their car struck a tree and caught fire on Route 22 in Mountainside, authorities said. The man was was speeding when his car hit a tree in the center median of the highway near the Garden State Parkway intersection around 4 a.m., police said. The car caught fire immediately and trapped the driver -- his female passenger was thrown from the vehicle. Both victims died at the scene, authorities said. Their ages and identities have not yet been released.

Woman, 79, Hit By Car In Mountainside Dies A 79-year-old woman from Mountainside was killed Thursday night when she was struck by a car, police said.  The woman, who was not immediately identified, was crossing at Summit Road and Wyoming Drive shortly after 7 p.m. when she was hit by a Honda Civic. She was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver, a 27-year-old woman from Lebanon, stopped and remained at the intersection.  Summit Road was closed for four hours for the initial investigation. The investigation was still ongoing as of Friday morning.
