Firefighters Battle 3-Alarm Blaze In Middlesex County
Two homes were heavily damaged by a three-alarm fire that started in a garage in Middlesex Borough, authorities said. On Friday, June 14, at 2:40 a.m., the Middlesex Borough Police Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 832 West Second Street. Officers arrived on scene and confirmed that a garage was fully engulfed in flames. Prior to the fire spreading to 836 West Second Street, officers were able to safely evacuate the occupants of both residences, Middlesex police said. : Firefighters Rescue Two Kids, Adult Trapped In Perth Amboy House Blaze
Two children and an adult trapped on an upper floor were rescued by Perth Amboy firefighters during a Friday night house blaze. Four people in all were hospitalized in the Market Street fire, all with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening, firefighters said. A total of 18 people were displaced, they said. Teens Charged In Middlesex County Arson Fire
Authorities charged two teens with torching a Middlesex County commercial building Thursday night. Arrested Friday were Ryan Deahl and Eric Mejia-Vides, both 18. Both are charged with arson, burglary and conspiracy to commit both, Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Christopher L.C. Kuberiet and Middlesex Borough Police Chief Matthew Geist said in a joint release. Deahl also was charged with having a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, they said.
