'Iconic' North Jersey Restaurant Closing After 60 Years
A popular Italian restaurant in North Jersey is closing after 60 years in business.
The last day of business for Miele's Restaurant, located at 125 Bloomfield Ave., in Verona, will be on Sunday, Dec. 24, owner Steve Amadeo announced on Facebook.

Miele's was founded by Tom and Rose Miele in 1954 before turning over the restaurant to Joann Amadeo, who began working there as a waitress in 1967.
Steve Amadeo, Joann's son, has been running the place alongside his wife Leonor, but announced his retirement last week.

Italian Specialty Store 'Il Mercato' Coming To Jersey Shore
South Jersey shoppers and gourmands can look forward to the arrival of a new Italian specialty grocer.
Il Mercato, a self-styled purveyor of "fine-catered foods, meats, and Italian specialties" is coming to Holmdel, management has announced on Facebook.
The shop, to be located at 37 Main Street at the site of the former Cracked Olive Market, is still under construction according to managers.

Rooftop Opens At Felina In Ridgewood
The rooftop has opened at Felina in Ridgewood after nearly 3.5 years.
La Terrazza has its own food and drinks menu and is located on top of the Italian restaurant on East Ridgewood Avenue, initially run by four-star chef Anthony Bucco.
Bucco left the restaurant during COVID-19, at which point Flavia Amaral and chef Carlos Valdez, both of Let's Meat in River Vale, took over.
La Terrazza seats 85 guests, has a kitchen with a pizza oven, rosé bar, cocktails, and can be transformed into an event space.

Couple Opens Italian Restaurant 'Basilico' In Raritan
A new Italian restaurant has opened in Raritan.
"Basilico" is owned by Joe Trani and Kari LaSpisa, who have operated several other eateries in the area.
Joe came to the U.S. in 2013 from Italy. The food at Basilico is inspired by his upbringing in Ischia, an island off the coast of Naples.
"We aren't focusing on the past, only the future," Kari said.
