The blaze ignited among tires, pallets and debris, then spread to three trucks behind Luscher’s Automotive between 4th and Lafayette avenues shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, Hawthorne Fire Chief Joseph Speranza said. The hydraulic arm apparently malfunctioned, leaving the worker suspended above Hanover Place off Heathcote Road shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday. Several sprinkler heads were destroyed and a piece of the ceiling was ripped off Thursday when the rental truck, begin used for Amazon Prime deliveries, got stuck under the Harristown Road building off Lincoln Avenue.
