Born and raised in Bernardsville, Matt attended Raritan Valley Community College (North Branch) and earned his associate's degree in liberal arts, his obituary says. He wet on to graduate Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech in 2010. Matt had been working as a commercial estimator for Direct Millwork in Washington, his obituary says.
