Man Charged With Repeated Sexual Assaults Of Girl, 7, In Linden

A man from Franklin in Somerset County has been charged with sexually assaulting a young child on multiple occasions in Linden, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said.

Daniel Williams, 36, began assaulting the girl in 2014, when she was seven, according to authorities. The assaults continued into 2015.

He has been charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He was arrested at his home July 15 following an investigation that lasted seven months.

A detention hearing in the case was scheduled for Friday.
