Transformer, Live Wires Fall On Vehicle Sparking Blaze In Bergenfield
Firefighters in Bergenfield worked to put out a fire caused by high tension wires and transformers from a utility pole that had fallen on a vehicle Wednesday evening, Aug. 14. It happened on North Washington Avenue and West Church Street, where PSE&G was called to the scene to turn off the power. At the scene. Bergenfield Fire Department The occupants of the vehicle were able to escape before flames consumed the car. Firefighters knocked down the blaze, with help from a Teaneck ladder and engine company from Dumont.

The family of a 9-year-old Bergenfield boy who was killed when his bicycle collided with a commuter bus 2½ years ago has reportedly settled a negligence lawsuit for $1.6 million. Fire Blows Through Roof Of Bergenfield Restaurant
UPDATE: Firefighters doused a blaze that ravaged a Thai restaurant in Bergenfield. The fire at the Thai Food takeout and catering restaurant on West Church Street off Railroad Avenue broke out shortly after 7:30 p.m. Friday. Firefighters contained the blaze to the small structure, with no injuries reported, according to Mayor Arvin Amatorio. ‘Truly Tragic Accident’: Bus Driver Not At Fault For Death Of Bergenfield Boy, 10, Police Find
A bus driver wasn’t at fault for the death of a 10-year-old Bergenfield boy who was struck on his bicycle, police said Thursday. Alvin Maracallo was headed in the same direction on West Church Street when the bus turned left onto Veterans Plaza, hitting him as he entered the crosswalk shortly before 4 p.m. May 27, Capt.
