A drunken Passaic County ex-con wanted on multiple warrants had a loaded gun tucked into his waistband when Wallington police found him asleep at the wheel a week and a half ago, authorities said. He's remained in custody ever since then. She Thought She Wouldn't Win: North Jersey, Meet Your Favorite Fit Cop
The readers have spoken and the results are in. Congratulations to Wayne Police Officer Christie Ohlendorf, who was voted North Jersey's favorite "Fit Cop" in the Daily Voice competition. Ohlendorf, a CrossFit athlete -- was certain she wouldn't win but earned 27 percent of votes (out of the 10 total law enforcement officers). Paramus Deputy Chief Robert Guidetti took second place with 23 percent of votes. Fit Cops: Bergen County SWAT Member Keeps Composure In Boxing Ring
Victor Urgiles had just gotten home from police training last May when the call came in. A New York City murder suspect had barricaded himself in a Hackensack home. Urgiles, a Bergen County Regional SWAT Team member, knew anything could happen at the scene. But he wasn't afraid. Moments like this is what Urgiles trains for.
