: Car Falls Off Tow Truck, Catches Fire On Route 80 In Hackensack
A car fell off the back of a flatbed tow truck and caught fire Friday afternoon on Route 80 in Hackensack. The tow operator was able to disconnect the rig from the car and escape any danger. Overturned Dump Truck, Vehicle Fire Cause Parsippany Delays
A dump truck that overturned in Parsippany Wednesday morning caused delays along Route 80. The 9 a.m. accident closed multiple highway lanes due to debris east of Exit 42, causing delays of up to 25 minutes. Eastbound lanes were reopened shortly after. Route 46 was also temporarily closed as of 11:30 a.m. due to a vehicle fire between Parsippany and Waterview boulevards, Parsippany police said. Motorists Pull Driver From Burning Car After Crash On Route 208 In Wyckoff
Motorists bolted from their vehicles and pulled an unconscious driver from a Volvo that burst into flames Monday night after careening off Route 208 in Wyckoff and hitting a boulder and a tree. The 21-year-old Chester, NY driver was taken to a local hospital after his 2006 Volvo crashed between Cedar Hill and Russell avenues around 7:30 p.m., Lt. Joseph Soto said. Charges against him were pending, Soto said. Route 208’s northbound lanes were closed until 4:30 a.m. for an investigation and cleanup. Hot Coals Caused Fire That Scorched 7 Cars During NY Jets Game
Seven cars got burned nearly as bad as the New York Jets during Sunday's East Rutherford game against the Minnesota Vikings. Hot coals from grills scorched the vehicles during two separate incidents in the MetLife Stadium parking lot, Meadowlands Fire Chief Kevin Meehan said. In one incident, a driver parked over the coals in an area where people tailgating had dumped the coals, Meehan said. Police: Trapped Driver Pulled From Burning SUV By Passing West Milford Firefighter Was Drunk
A trapped Wayne driver who was rescued from certain death when a passing West Milford firefighter pulled him from his burning, overturned SUV was drunk, authorities said. Jason Paradiso, 36, was shouting and banging for help as off-duty firefighter Lukas Graf rushed into the woods off Cahill Cross Road with an extinguisher around 11:15 p.m. Sept. 8, authorities said. Connecticut Driver Incinerated By Fire From Live Downed Wire
A car became engulfed in flames after wires fell on the vehicle, killing one person, according to the Danbury Police Department. The incident took place around 8:48 a.m. Tuesday in the area between Jeanette Street and Pembroke Road, said Det. Ralph Anderson.
