A 25-year-old Newark man was arrested after committing a string of armed robberies in Paterson on Sunday, Oct. 6, authorities said.
Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., the Paterson Police Department said they received multiple calls regarding six different robberies that occurred in the vicinity of Summer Street, 22nd Avenue, Main Street, Paterson Avenue, and McBride Avenue.

A 35-year-old Passaic County resident's cache of illegal firearms, high-capacity magazines, ammunition, sharp-edged weapons, ballistics body armor, and more were uncovered after authorities were tipped off to his reckless behavior in Facebook groups and on the roads.

Update: Totowa Man, 62, Dies In House Fire
A resident was killed and his mother rescued Saturday in an early-morning fire that ripped through a two-family Totowa home, responders said.
Gregory Massaro, 62, was trapped on the second floor after the fire broke out shortly after 5:30 a.m. at the corner of Gordon and Chamberlain avenues, authorities said.
His 89-year-old mother, who lives on the first floor, was rescued by firefighters who found her on a couch, responders said.
