A tractor-trailer hauling garbage tipped over a median on Route 17 Friday morning at what police and commuters say has become an all-too-frequent site for such crashes near the New York State border. The driver was initially entrapped but climbed out on his own after his northbound rig went over the divider near the Route 202 exit at Mountainside Avenue at 8:43 a.m. Sept. 8, Mahwah Police Chief Timothy O'Hara said. The driver of a tractor trailer was flown to the hospital after apparently being cut off by a vehicle then crashing on Route 202 last week, responders said. Deadly Crash Reported In Hunterdon County, State Police Say (

One person was killed in a crash on Route 202 in Hunterdon County, state police said. A vehicle went off the road and overturned on Route 202 north near Wertsville Road in East Amwell Township around 2:05 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, NJSP Sgt. Alejandro Goez told DailyVoice.com. One person was confirmed dead following the crash, Goez said. The ramp from 31 to 202 was temporarily shut down for the investigation. Additional details were not immediately released.

Football, Lax Player Struck By Car On Route 202 Remains Critical
A 15-year-old football and lacrosse player remains critical after being struck by a car on Route 202 early Memorial Day, those who know him say. Jerry Walther was identified as the victim flown to Morristown Medical Center after being struck at Reaville Road around 2:25 a.m., according to a GoFundMe page raising money for his family. 15-Year-Old Boy Airlifted In Route 202 Crash
A 15-year-old boy was flown to the hospital after being struck by a car on Route 202, authorities said. He was struck around 2:25 a.m. at the Reaville Road intersection in Flemington, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office said. He was taken to Morristown Medical Center for treatment and the crash remains under investigation.

West Milford Man Nabbed In Rockland With Loaded Gun, Meth, Sheriff Says
A Passaic County driver was carrying a loaded gun and more than two ounces of crystal meth when a sheriff’s officer stopped him in Rockland, authorities said. Ethan A. Iglesias, 22, of Stowaway Road was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 202 in the town of Haverstraw at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, March 31, Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco said. A local judge ordered that Iglesias remain held in the Rockland County Correctional Facility in New City pending a detention hearing on Monday, April 4, the sheriff said. He's charged with drug and weapons offenses.

A medical chopper was summoned after an employee was severely burned in an explosion Thursday morning at a machining company in Oakland. Responders were called to FIMS Manufacturing on Allerman Road -- just off the Route 202 ramp to Route 287 -- around 10:45 a.m. Police, firefighers and EMS responded.
