Unlicensed Driver, 25, Wanted In Deadly Fourth Of July Crash On Route 287: Prosecutor
A 25-year-old New York woman has been named "Fugitive of the Month" in one New Jersey county. Angely Betancourt has been charged with reckless death by auto and causing death while driving unlicensed in the July 4, 2022 crash that left one person dead on Route 287 southbound access ramp to Route 78 west in Bedminster, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said. The crash, which happened just before 12:25 p.m., was investigated by New Jersey State Police. The department did not immediately return Daily Voice's request for comment.

Two Pedestrians Struck, Seriously Injured In Palisades Park
Two pedestrians were hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Palisades Park on Sunday, Sept. 8, authorities said. The two were crossing the street at West Edsall Boulevard and Highland Avenue when they were hit by a car just before 8 p.m., local police said. Both were rushed to the hospital and the county prosecutor's office is investigating, police said.

A Somerset County property manager was renting out apartments without her boss's knowledge and pocketing the "rent" for herself, authorities claim. Yessica Gonzalez, 44, of Ewing, is held at the county lockup on multiple charges of theft and forgery related to the scam that Prosecutor John P. McDonald says she ran for years. Teen Boy Found Dead Near Union County Train Tracks
A 17-year-old boy was found dead near railroad tracks in Union County Thursday, Aug. 4, authorities said. The unidentified male was found near West Second Street and Central Avenue around 8:30 p.m. in Plainfield, a spokesperson with the prosecutor's office said. It was not clear where exactly his body was found. The cause of death was under investigation.

A woman was found dead in an apparent homicide at a South Jersey motel, authorities said. The unidentified victim's body was found inside a room at the Bel-Air Motor Lodge in Maple Shade, Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina said. A 28-year-old South Jersey man who videotaped sexual assaults of a young girl was sentenced to 15 years in State Prison, authorities announced Thursday, March 10. Cody Rodriguez must serve the entire term before becoming eligible for parole, under the sentence imposed by the Superior Court Judge Philip E. Haines. Escaped Edna Mahan Inmate Captured
A prisoner who escaped from the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility on Sunday has been captured, authorities said. ORIGINAL STORY BELOW The inmate was reported missing from a minimum security unit at the facility sometime Sunday morning, a spokesperson from the prosecutor's office said.
