PA Motorcyclist Ejected Over NJ Turnpike, Falls 25 Feet To His Death
Police have identified the motorcyclist who died after being ejected off of an elevated roadway on the NJ Turnpike and fell nearly 25 feet to his death. Jay Sills of Allentown, PA was headed eastbound near the Holland Tunnel approach on a Suzuki motorcycle when he struck a concrete barrier at milepost 7.9 around 4:20 p.m. Sunday, State Police Trooper Philip Curry said. Sills, 43, was ejected from his motorcycle and fell over the highway onto a dirt lot below, located near 14th and Monmouth Street, local and state police said. Sills was pronounced dead at the scene.

? NY Pair Wanted For NJ Turnpike Road Rage Assault
New Jersey State Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a pair of men wanted for a road rage incident on the NJ Turnpike. The victim and the two suspects were pulled over on the northbound, inner roadway at milepost 82 in East Brunswick around 6:30 p.m. Aug. 15, State Police said. The two men got out of their car and hit the victim in the face with an unknown object, then got back in a black Mercedes Benz SUV with an unknown New York plate and fled, authorities said. A Newark ex-con driving a stolen car tried to elude Lyndhurst police by dashing into the Meadowlands marshes during an overnight pursuit, but their colleagues from other towns helped capture him, authorities said. A 23-year-old Elizabeth woman died and 23-year-old man was seriously injured after a Ford van and Mercedes sedan crashed on the southbound side of the NJ Turnpike Monday morning in Middlesex County. Wendy Guevara was pronounced dead at the scene while the man, Henry Nolasco, was flown to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with serious injuries, according to State Police and a GoFundMe launched by friends. A 52-year-old tractor-trailer driver was found with firearms and brass knuckles after shooting at another driver during a road rage incident on the NJ Turnpike in Union County, State Police said. Englewood Motorcyclist, 50, Killed In Turnpike Ramp Crash
A 50-year-old motorcyclist from Englewood was killed in a crash on Route 278 in Union County over the weekend, state police said. Shawn Palmer was on the Route 278 ramp to the NJ Turnpike when he struck a concrete barrier on the right side of the road around 7 p.m. Saturday, Trooper Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice. Palmer was ejected from his Kawasaki and fell from the elevated roadway onto a portion of Route 278, and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The motorcycle hit a GMC box truck, Goez said. The truck driver was uninjured, the trooper said.

Man Riding Electric Scooter On NJ Turnpike Killed By SUV
A National Park man riding an electric scooter was killed in an overnight crash on the NJ Turnpike, authorities said. Alexander Dziewa, 27, was heading westbound on a TailG scooter in the left lane when he was struck by a Buick Rendezvous SUV around 2:25 a.m. in Kearny, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Lawrence Peele said. Dziewa -- whose Facebook page says he is a Garfield native -- was pronounced dead at the scene, near mile marker 109.4, Peele said. The area was closed for three hours for investigation. Circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation.

Trucker Charged With Vehicular Homicide, Assault In Fatal NJ Turnpike Crash
A chain-reaction crash on the NJ Turnpike in Ridgefield that claimed the life of a Long Island man was caused by a Seattle truck driver, said State Police who charged him vehicular homicide.
