A Morris County corrections officer found himself on the other side of the law. Justin Jasiecki, 24, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence following a two-car crash in Denville on Friday, Jan. 17, Denville police said. At 11:23 p.m., officers responded to the crash on Route 53 and an investigation determined Jasiecki was under the influence of alcohol, police said. A High Bridge crossing guard and veteran firefighter was fatally struck by a vehicle while on duty Wednesday afternoon, authorities said. Robert "Bob" Bork, 75, was hit by a southbound vehicle on CR 513 at the intersection of Larrison Avenue around 12:10 p.m., according to the High Bridge Police Department and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office. Teen Football Player Airlifted After Losing Feeling In Legs In Sussex County, Police Say
A 13-year-old boy was airlifted to the hospital after he was injured playing football on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 21, in Sussex County authorities said. At 8:11 p.m., the boy was playing football at Station Park in Sparta Township when he temporarily lost feeling in his legs, Sparta Township Police Captain Thomas Snyder said. An Atlantic Air helicopter transported the boy to Morristown Medical Center, Snyder said. The young athlete regained feeling in both legs before the helicopter arrived, but was still hospitalized for for further evaluation, Snyder said.
