Video Shared Of E-Motorcycle Crash With Port Authority Cruiser That Killed Hudson Man Near GWB
It happened in an instant: A North Bergen man on an electric motorcycle zooms by a surveillance camera near the George Washington Bridge – then collides with a turning Port Authority police vehicle. A video released by New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin's office shows both vehicles, although a column blocks a view of the crash that killed Rolando Quevedo, 38, at the corner of Lemoine Avenue and Bruce Reynolds Boulevard on Oct. 17. The names of five Port Authority police officers who died on 9/11 live on in a quintet of K9s who were welcomed to the department, along with their partners, in a special graduation ceremony Friday at Newark Airport. A stolen car thief was caught by Palisades Interstate Parkway police after back-to-back crashes near the George Washington Bridge, authorities said. Route 46 traffic headed toward the George Washington Bridge got sludgy after a load of marble shifted on the back of a tractor-trailer. Fort Lee police summoned ABC Towing after the slabs cut through the improperly-attached straps holding the load shortly before 5 p.m. Traffic was down to a single lane passing the Dunkin Donuts and Wendy's as heavy-duty wreckers righted the load.
