Three men and a teenager led police on a wild pursuit after crashing a stolen BMW, and then hopping in a Lexus SUV, causing one state trooper to crash his vehicle on the Garden State Parkway over the weekend, authorities said. Woman Left Elderly Disabled Person In Sun Causing Heatstroke: AG
A 28-year-old woman from Union County has been indicted for allegedly neglecting an elderly disabled person in her care, authorities said. Valerie Pinchinat, of Linden, was indicted for third-degree neglect of an elderly or disabled person., they said. The indictment was returned by a grand jury on Wednesday, May 11, according to Acting Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin. UPDATE: An armed robber who stabbed a Keansburg police officer was shot and killed by police at a local drug store Thursday afternoon, authorities said. Multiple officers fired at the robber at the Keansburg Pharmacy in Keansburg Plaza on Main Street shortly before 3:30 p.m., Acting New Jersey Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck said. The family of a PATH worker who died of COVID-19 complications filed a lawsuit for wrongful death saying that the railroad failed to supply adequate PPE or facilitate testing, reports say. Robert Elijah, 61, of Aberdeen -- who worked for 18 years as a Power Rail Mechanic -- died of COVID-19 complications April 23. A 44-year-old Teaneck man is the third in the township to return a presumptive positive test for COVID-19 in New Jersey, officials said. Safety Report Reveals Deficiencies Of Holy Name Medical Center
New Jersey hospitals aren't as safe as they used to be, according to the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades' spring report. Of the 65 New Jersey hospitals graded, only 22 earned an A (HUMC, Holy Name Medical Center and The Valley Hospital), compared to the 30 hospitals that scored at the top in the fall.
