Paterson detectives seized 741 heroin folds, 118 crack vials, four guns and $2,427 in drug money while making 12 arrests during a series of quick strikes, authorities said.
Investigators grabbed Christian Belfield, 42, and found him carrying 40 bags of crack and a 9mm Glock handgun loaded with eight rounds – four of them with hollow points – after watching him sell drugs from a vehicle at Summer Street and Hamilton Avenue, Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.

A dozen members of a violent gang that put 50,000 doses of lethal heroin and over two pounds of crack a week on the streets of Paterson were arrested by city and state authorities in a major takedown, authorities said Thursday.

Police: Veteran Prostitutes Pinched In Paterson Undercover Op
An undercover police officer posing as a john netted four veteran Paterson prostitutes who waved down and propositioned him, authorities said.
The detective cruised the area of Van Houten Avenue and Auburn Street between the city public library and the Kilpatrick School on Friday, city Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.
Arrested were Betty Morales, 47, and Nicole C. Paletta-Wright, 39, of Paterson, and Kristen D. Surlak, 34, of Fair Lawn, he said.
Also arrested, at Broadway and East 18th Street, was Dawn M. Stapowick, 47, of Paterson, the director said.
