TSA officers at LaGuardia Airport nabbed a Connecticut man trying to carry a gun aboard a flight on Monday, authorities said. A Transportation Security Administration officer spotted the unloaded .38-caliber Sig Sauer P238 pistol in a carry-on bag as it passed through the checkpoint X-Ray machine’s monitor at the Queens, NY airport, the TSA's Lisa Farbstein said. TSA agents grabbed a Florida man as he tried to board a plane at Newark Airport with a gun and a box of ammo in his carry-on baggage, authorities said. The weapon was properly packed in a hard-sided case along with a box that held 35 bullets, the Transportation Security Administration said. But it wasn't supposed to be carried on, the TSA said. A passenger having a medical emergency on a Newark Liberty Airport-bound flight claimed there was a bomb on board, bringing emergency vehicles to the tarmac after the plane landed, reports say.
