Y. -- A Mamaroneck project to protect Long Island Sound from sanitary sewer drainage issues is getting a little help from the state in the form of a $250,000 grant through New York's Water Infastructure Improvement Act, officials announced.The grant is earmarked for drainage system improvements for the West Basin Drainage area, officials said. The idea is to reduce sanitary sewer overflow in the drainage system. Officers took the victim to Bridgeport Hospital, the CT Post reports. Later, police got a call from St. Vincent's Medical Center to report that a man was being treated at the hospital for a gunshot wound. Y. -- No one was injured, but a lightning strike on a New Rochelle house Tuesday night appears to have started a small fire in the attic, according to News 12. A woman and her son were in the house on Bon Air Avenue when the lighting hit around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Fire officials told News 12 that they aren't sure whether the lighting hit the house directly, or indirectly through a tree.
