Bergenfield Police: Snow Emergency Lifted, Overnight Parking Prohibited BERGENFIELD, N.J. -- Bergenfield lifted its snow emergency as of 5 p.m. Wednesday. "Overnight parking within the borough will still be prohibited," Police Chief Cathy Madalone said. "Please be courteous and try to park on one side of the street only to allow for free passage of emergency and non-emergency vehicles." Madalone also reminded residents and business owners to "remove ice and snow from vehicles before traveling -- and do not shovel snow into the roadways."

Four More Take Nomination Petitions For Teaneck Elections TEANECK, N.J. -- Four more people have taken out nominating petitions to become candidates in the May 10 council election, making it a three way race: nine people are preparing to run for three council seats. Jennifer Glass, director of the Teaneck Chamber of Commerce, picked up a petition Jan. 7, as did Jacob Herenstein. Herenstein is a 22-year old student at Yeshiva University. Englewood Flat Rock Preserve Discusses Deer Management Enclosure ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- Flat Rock Brook Nature Association in Englewood will have a deer management information session Thursday evening, Jan. 28 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The discussion will focus on pros and cons of installing a deer enclosure for the nature center. The enclosure proposed is an aluminum fence eight feet high and 11,000 feet long, surrounding 100 acres of the 150-acre center. Northvale Fire Veteran Feted For 70 Years Of Service NORTHVALE, N.J. -- Northvale celebrated a very special anniversary Friday, Jan. 22 -- the 70th anniversary of Fire Fighter Arthur Bodrato in the Northvale Volunteer Fire Department. Bodrato, known as Artie, has been a Northvale fireman since he was 20 years old. To honor him, the Mayor and Council voted a proclamation, and Mayor Ed Piehler featured Bodrato on his Facebook page.
