TEANECK,N.J. — A group of Teaneck High School alumni are on a mission to solve the 21st century social media crisis: too many platforms, too little time.

But now, there's an app for that — TOMO!

Launched last November by the group of eight friends, TOMO! consolidates all of your social media accounts into one “hive.”

“The same way that bees cross-pollinate flowers, we are trying to cross-pollinate social media accounts,” said CFO and co-founder Alfonzo Smith, 28, of Hackensack, THS Class of 2006.

With one simple scan of a code, users see all of their friends' accounts in one place. No more switching back and forth between apps.

Smith and fellow 2006 graduate Matthew Gonzalez of Paterson came up with the idea in late 2014, and completed the concept along with Frank Ozoria and Matthew Adel-Arnold of Hackensack in February 2015.

They worked with THS alumni Adam Sarraga, Zevenia Dennis, John Yu and Anthony Berroa and before launching TOMO! Last July in a New York City gallery.

So far, TOMO! can link Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr. Its founders are working on adding Snapchat, Vine, Soundcloud and “every integral part of social media that people are using every day,” Smith told Daily Voice.

“Where the world is headed, no one wants to take the time to type in a username,” he explained. “They want a quick, convenient experience."

Essentially, users will have one handle to represent dozens of accounts.

The friends are working on bringing the app to Androids.

“We’re very determined to be a leading factor in social convenience,” Smith said. “Or at least to be known as a pioneer of it.”
