Millennials Help Jersey City's Most Vulnerable With Launch Of Free Delivery Service
Four young adults have taken it upon themselves to create a network of volunteers throughout Jersey City and NYC to pick up groceries for those who are most at risk for COVID-19. Fair Lawn Teen Honors Dad's Memory
As he rushed to a Fair Lawn house fire on Wednesday, a young volunteer carried with him a heavy heart. Junior Fair Lawn Firefighter Terrance Pridmore, 17, “dropped everything to help out with the fire even though his dad passed away last month,” his mother said after the Oak Street blaze. The wake for Terrance Pridmore Sr. was Thursday evening at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne, NJ 07506. From the time his son was born, the elder Pridmore courageously battled gastrointestinal stromal tumors, which produce the rarest of all cancers. “He put up a great fight…

Members also hope the event – which included tours of one of the heavy rescue trucks -- encourages youngsters and their paren…

Saddle Brook Students Volunteer To Dig Out Neighbors
SADDLE BROOK, N.J. – As snow fell on Saddle Brook Thursday, a group of kind-hearted young people headed outdoors to dig out their neighbors. The Saddle Brook High School students are part of the school’s Community Partnership Club – a branch of a township-wide initiative aimed at linking vulnerable residents in need of assistance with volunteers and resources. “The Community Partnership high school students volunteered to shovel snow at homes of senior citizens and those who need help after the snow storm,” said Saddle Brook Mayor Robert White. The program was launched last December and is…
