New Jersey's Nabisco Factory To Close By Summer, 600 Workers Laid Off The New Jersey Nabisco factory that has been pumping sweet cookie aromas into the air along Route 208 for years will shutter by the summer, leaving 600 workers without jobs. The Fair Lawn factory and another in Atlanta, Georgia will close in late August or early September, Borough Mayor Kurt Peluso and Nabisco's parent company, Mondelez International, said Thursday. But to longtime residents, the sweet smell has long signaled home. Mondelēz International Bakery on Route 208 recently celebrated its sixth decade in local business with a celebration. The global snack food bakery welcomed local employees and officials, including Fair Lawn Mayor Kurt Peluso and the North America President of Mondelēz International, Glen Walter.  The event concluded as the Fair Lawn bakery begins its countdown to 100 years.
