Diana Golonek and Officer Grant Novak arrived at a house fire just before midnight Thursday. The living-room blaze was beginning to cook, leaving the pair little time. Golonek emptied two fire extinguishers on the flames while Novak opened a garden hose he'd pulled through an open French door of the 5,000-square-foot house on tiny dead-ended Dogwood Drive late on June 28. Fire Routs Residents Of Ridgewood Two-Family All of the occupants of a two-family house in Ridgewood got out OK after a fire ignited in the attic. It will likely be awhile before they'll be able to return, however. The smoky blaze broke out in the 2½-story wood-frame house on Walton Street off South Maple Avenue around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 4. Nasty Crash Near Route 17 Sends Two To Hospital Two people were hospitalized following a crash at a busy Ho-Ho-Kus intersection. The collision at the five corners at Sheridan and Hollywood avenues near Gilbert Road around 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30 severely damaged an SUV and a wagon. Both victims were taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that weren't immediately considered life-threatening. Ho-Ho-Kus firefighters killed power to the vehicles and cleaned up a fuel spill. Ho-Ho-Kus police and EMS also responded, as did a paramedic team from Valley.
