A repeat offender tried to outrace a Franklin Lakes police officer with a flat tire and his airbags deployed, authorities said. Needless to say, he didn't get far. Officer Kevin Shutrop spotted the crippled Toyota Camry at the traffic circle at Franklin Lake and High Mountain roads shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, Police Mark McCombs said. Contractor Airlifted After Bad Fall At Franklin Lakes Home
A cleaning service contractor was airlifted following a bad fall at a Franklin Lakes home, authorities said. The 34-year-old contractor with Jose’s Cleaning Services of Ridgefield Park was cleaning gutters and power-washing the Crest Place home near Kells Pond just off Pulis Avenue when he fell two stories around 3 p.m. Tuesday, Police Capt. Firefighters Free Driver In Franklin Lakes Rollover
Franklin Lakes firefighters freed a heavily entrapped driver after a rollover crash. The Cadillac Escalade was on its side on Summit Avenue at Lynn Drive when responders arrived shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday. Firefighters stabilized the vehicle and began removing the roof before turning over the driver to the Franklin Lakes Volunteer Ambulance Corps for transportation to an area hospital. Firefighters Extricate Driver With Severe Head Injury In Crash Off Route 208
A driver suffered traumatic head injuries and had to be extricated by Franklin Lakes firefighters after she ran a stop sign and her car was hit by a truck, authorities said. The 27-year-old Paterson driver had exited northbound Route 208 to Summit Avenue shortly before 7:30 a.m., Police Sgt. Denny G. Knubel said. She made a left onto Summit without stopping and her Nissan Sentra was struck by a Freightliner driven by a 66-year-old borough man, Knubel said. A drunk Passaic County driver led police on a late-night chase up Route 208 at speeds that reached 100 miles an hour before crashing his pickup truck at the on-ramp to Route 287 in Franklin Lakes, authorities said. Sean Fachner, 39, of Hewitt started out by speeding up behind Fair Lawn Police Officer Brad Pindyck’s marked patrol cruiser on northbound Route 208 shortly before midnight Wednesday, Sgt. Compact Car With 6 Occupants Tumbles Into Franklin Lakes Ditch
Six people were packed into a compact car that rolled over in Franklin Lakes late Thursday, sending two occupants to the hospital, authorities said. Neither injury was considered life-threatening, responders said. The 2005 Ford Focus was headed west on Vance Avenue just before midnight when 19-year-old Hunter Leegwater of Ringwood lost control at a curve, Capt. John Bakelaar said.
