8-Year-Old Horseback Rider Seriously Injured In New Jersey SUV Crash An 8-year-old horseback rider suffered serious injuries in a crash with an SUV in North Jersey this week, authorities said. The child was riding the horse along Linn Smith Road in Frankford Township, when the horse traveled into the roadway and struck the side of a Ford SUV around 5:10 p.m, New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said. The 8-year-old was ejected and suffered serious injuries. The horse suffered moderate injuries. No further information was provided.

Scott Reider, 68, was heading north on County Highway 565 near milepost 0.8 in Frankford Township when he ran off the road and struck a tree around 10:35 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 6, state police said. Reider, of Wantage, was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries and subsequently pronounced dead. The crash remains under investigation.
